If it just won't start then check the CDI box, I had a few do that this year. Look for the seal around the wiring to be broken or a hole leading water into the box. Banchetta
Check the kill switch??? J/k.....test the stator. mine did the same thing on my '95, was running like a champ and then just died like I hit the kill switch...Call Ricky Stator and he'll tell you the ohms and color wires to test. I can't remember off the top of my head. It'll take you 5 minutes to test the stator.....BTW, the stator has two areas in it, one for the headlights, and one for ignition, so even if the headlights come on while kick, it doesn't matter... boonman
Check the orange and black wires on the primary side of the coil. Now, go out and get a service manual. Either Clymer or Yamaha. Inside it will tell you step by step how to test the stator.....
SDD
Try adding some more gas to your gas tank. Even if it seems as if you have enough adding a little more gas to the tank will not hurt anything.
National Banshee
If you are getting good steady spark, and fuel, you might want to check your compression. Good luck!
