shortys racing Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 i know you can bore out the stock carbs but can you bore out a 33mm to a 35 and a 35 to a 38 ? yeah, normally it's only 1.5mm boreable till you start to see daylight beside the slides......thats bad!!! Quote
evil Posted January 14, 2004 Author Report Posted January 14, 2004 so its probley not worth doing, right ? even at 1.5 it still wont give you a bigger increase ? am i on the right track ? Quote

broke Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I can't say anything about the performance. But if you just go by the numbers, it "seems" worth it to me. A 35 mm carb has @961.6 square MM of area. if they were bored to 36.5 the number climbs to 1045.8 square MM. If my math is right you gained almost 9% in area of the carb bore. On paper it looks like enough of an increase to justify the expense. As far as real world application of it, who knows. I am just an idiot with a calculator. But when I break things down like that, they just make more sense to me. broke Quote
evil Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 cool, good to know it may be worth it afterall. the carb im thinking of boaring is a 35 and wanted to save a little on going and buying a 38. this just might work. thanks guys Quote
itsaripper Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Evil I don't know if anyone does it anymore but the carb can be bored up into the body. If you look at it when done it would look egg shaped. That way you get more bore but keep the original slide. Quote
