Anyone Know What This Really Is?

it looks like a bottle-opener from late Reinnasance to Mid-Baroque periods. Louis XIV reprimanded the use of kegs for storage of wine and thats were the bottle came fom so it could be served at the dinner table. Of course with the bottle comes the bottle opener

Snap!, check out erbilabuc "I'll take ancient alcohol history for a thousand Alex"

I'm impressed.  I say give him the prize just for that kick ass answer.

Dunedemon.

Not into ancient alcohol and stuff. Just into history, specially the Reinnasance and Baroque periods which included the scientific and green revolutions.

erbilabuc, wasn't trying to bust your balls, I realy was impressed with your initial answer. Frankly I find it interresting that people who share a common interrest (banshees) can have such drastically different other interrests. Guess thats what makes the world go around. If we all liked the same shit this would be a boring place. Scientific and green revolutions - younger members take note when you've got some history homework.

I says it has a piston in it. :o Does the end have a hole in it to create some kind of vacuum or somehting. Damn, that thing is weird. Looks like the arms spread out when the piston is pushed in and the bottom arms.. on the right when looking at the pic, would be straight out.

maybe it was used to pull air out of something.

I don't know
