87blueshee Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I put 3/8" reeds spacers on and wonder how i will get my carbs in the boots what do i have to do because i have no clue what to do. Do i need to get the clamps on and will work. I live in illinois and ride around here so let me know thanks. Quote
jrm312 Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 i had that problem also. so i took off the air box and put the carbs on first, then i put the air box back on .its a little tricky puting it back on but it works.. hope this helps Quote
Banchetta Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I cut 1/2" off the air box so you have just enough for the clamps. Quote
sheebroke Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 i took the spacers back off and threw them in a box lol ! Quote
Yaxy Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I used to have reed spacers but it was to much of a pain to get the carbs on so I took them off. For me I had to remove the silencers to get enough free play to get the air box back on which was the only way that I had found to do it without killing your fingers. I guess cutting the front of the air box would work also., but I never tried it. Chris Quote
Just for fun Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I just shove the air box on the boots until the carb boots mash up enough to hook the air box in. Not too big of a deal. It got much harder when I put the V-Force on that Banshee, thats when I took the spacers out. Didnt notice ANY difference with or without them FYI. Quote
Proquad101 Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 On mine I have cut the bottom and the trimmed the top of my airbox. After that I cut the little tabs on the side of the airbox off so now there is no restriction on how far back the airbox is moved, oh yeah I took the antifreeze bottle off, so now I put the clamps on the carbs and zip tie the airbox to the bolt holes where the antifreeze bottle was bolted in. I have not had any problems with it. I also have pretty easy access to my airfilter. Quote
