damien
is the raptor the best quad for trail riding? i hear many good things towards it. i live in PA, and ride mainily mud, trails, stuff liek that, no dunes. any insight on theraptor for this riding will be great
p8121
I think a raptor would be a better choice than a banshee for trail rideing. Banshees kick ass in the dunes... but with no reverse and a narrow power band (that takes some getting used to) a raptor would be a better choice. in my opinion
lian
i ride banashee in the trails all the time and its not bad if you can lift the back up or be able to spin around but some of my trails are wide as a dump truck

I love the banshee's for releving stress...
sandman121383
my brother has a raptor and i gotta say i hate the clutch, i pull it in and it wants 2 stall out! not like my shee, i pull mine in and she'll lower to almost an idle and does it like a champ. could my bros jetting or something be off or do raptors just run that way? nebody on here with a raptor have this problem too? wvmudder
I live in WV and love my banshee on trails, but thats me always have had 2-strokes. Just my 2 cents.
tsuther78
mine doesn't do that...... the clutch is easier to user on the raptor i think.....and the thumb throttle is easier too.. The thumb throttle is easier for the Raptor cause you are not moving 2 carbs. I went to the twist throttle cause I got sick of having to ice my hand after a day of riding. boonman
A raptor would be better suited to PA trails. They are tight, rocky, rutted, muddy, shittty. However, I would not own one. I would opt for a 450......
got1banshee
A raptor would be better suited to PA trails. They are tight, rocky, rutted, muddy, shittty. However, I would not own one. I would opt for a 450...... I agree, I have driven a couple crapters and I do not like them at all. It felt uncomfertable, it keep wanting to tip over (very top heavy I thought). I have never been on the new 450 but it has to be better than a crapter. I am waiting for the new Honda to come out myself.
fel0n
I have ridden my friendns Raptor, and i didnt like it. It felt way too tipsy and top heavy. When i went riding, it was usually me(banshee), my friend carl(lt250r) and my other friend rj(raptor). The rappy could never keep us with us, and i liked both 2 strokes better even for trail riding. But its your decision. Good luck.
bigboybanshee
Riding a banshee in the trails is almost like having to aquire a taste for beer...it may not be that great at first but once you've done it a few times and get used to it, you love it. I have the option of riding a thumper or the banshee when I go out trail riding and I'll always choose the banshee...all my friends that I ride with are always begging to let them ride it through some trails..just takes a little getting used to...just my .
BansheeJerry
I have to agree, My friend and I swap bikes alot (he has a z-400) and no matter what terrain we are on I am always glad to get back on my shee... I havent found another quad yet that I like riding better and feel as comfortable on as my shee. I would take a shee over a rapturd anyday but It is ultimately your choice. theeechozen1
I read the dirtwheels review on the honda 450, seems pretty impressive, they raved on how good the power, handling and brakes were and how they could do stoppies all day without tryin...sounds like fun

I knew the bike would b nice when it came out,the problem is that the dealer i am getting one from said they wont be in till feb.11. So im still waiting for it....But in an older issue of another atv mag i have, it said that the new YFZ doesnt work that well on trail's but from what i see on the GNCC they work fairly well. The Q of this thread, My answer,my opinion: My uncle lives in PA and i ride the trails there just about every summer before i got my shee.(i had a blaster) it was brutal!! Tree stumps everywere! I would say to find an atv with clearance and grunt. Try either the raptor or the new kfx 700 kawasaki yea it's atomatic but i hear they work real good
