banshee04le
i bought the little nubby valve stems off of ebay to flip my front rims but i havent installed them yet. my rear are already flipped. i understand the drawbacks of doing this...more bump steer (i have a stabilizer, i hope this helps) more stress on ball joints (this is minimal i hope) and greater turning radius. i ride mostly flat open trails and some mx type shit. for the most part, i stay out of the woods trails...but i may ride some in the future. i was hopeing for some opinions on whether the good outweigh the bad. would the shocks bottom out easier? how much easier? thanks guys
Aussie Quad Racer
you will end up with a bike that handles worse. It will also make the shocks softer from the wider pivot point(the leverage thing happening) which will bottom out easier and handle worse in corners. banshee04le
i respect this mans opinion, but is that all i get? i would like to hear a simple flip or dont flip response from just the guys who have actually tried it both ways (not to imply that aussiequadracer has'nt ran both ways). ive listed the cons. the pro's that i know of are more stable cornering and i even heard one guy on here say that flipping them may smooth out the harshness of the stock shocks (new shocks on the way!) but i have never rode a bansh with the rims flipped so i dont really know what to think. you dont have to waste much time on this question...i would just like to get a polling...flip or not. is wider better? thanks
banshee04le
oh well, so much for the poll question, i cant edit it. screw it , i will just try it myself. thanks for all your help
Aussie Quad Racer
dont flip. I have tried it both ways
mrmatt
Just do it. Then ride it and see if you like it. If you don't, then you can always turn them back around. You already have the shorty valve stem don't you? I turned the front wheels around on my wife's Warrior and we wouldn't consider going back to stock now. But the Warrior is quite a bit narrower than the Banshee to start and she never gets more than three feet of air when jumping.
stu35
Flip them if you can't buy arms and shocks
