roho322
hey everyone, hopefully someone can help my banshee was stolen the day after thanksgiving. like a dumbass, i didn't have the vin# written down in a safe place. my buddy that i bought it from made lots of calls and finally tracked down the shop he bought it from in another state 8 years ago and got the vin#. (one heluva friend huh?!) here's the problem. when he wrote the # down, the person he was talking to didn't distinguish between O's and 0's so he wrote them all down as O's. i remember from all the times i sat there looking at the vin# that there were 0's in it. so i'm wondering if anyone knows which positions should be letters and which ones should be numbers. so anyway here's the vin#: JY43GGA?XTA?83?31 the question marks are either O's or 0's i think the first one is an O and the other two are 0's if anyone knows the answer or knows where i can find it please let me know. thanks a lot guys roho "enjoy your rides, and keep them safe"

fixitrod
Here are some examples. I don't think it will help, but it might. You should be able to call yamaha. (800) 962-7926

holeshotkid
They are Zeros You are absolutly right. There are no O's or Q's or I's used in VIN's.
ledofthezep
I'd say it's probably a 1994 model. Check out http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/VINchart.htm MEAT...you da' man! !
roho322
thanks guys, i called yamaha. (thanks for the # FIXITROD) they were very helpful. i didn't realize that when a machine is bought from the dealer, all the information about that quad, dealership, and the original owner are saved at yamaha, no-matter how far back. anyway, they are all zero's. thanks again roho
