Madbanshee01 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Share Posted January 7, 2004 Hey guys, I asked you guys a little while back to please check your banshee's for some play in your rear brake rotor. I go up to it and with one hand, i can move it back and forth just a slight bit. Some people said tighten it with the two nuts on the left side. I took it to the shop and they said that some banshees are like that with a little play in them. What do you guys think, can some of you check ?? 94BansheeRider Posted January 7, 2004 Report Share Posted January 7, 2004 I had the same problem with mine. There was some slop in the splines on the axle to the brake hub. The sprocket hub was the same way. I have since installed a LSR axle and new hubs. Is not a problem anymore. I have checked some of my friends shees, and they don't have this problem at all. I don't think you will break anything, but if the sprocket hub is doing this also, you may start going through chain and sprockets often. Before I replaced the axle and hubs, I was going through sprockets and chains about every other month! reded Posted January 10, 2004 Report Share Posted January 10, 2004 My bike has done that shit ever since I bought it. So do all of my friends. The hub is just loose on the splines. (Piss poor Yamaha tolerances) Not much you can do about it, except throw some cash at it and buy new hubs and axle. I just let mine be, it's not wearing out brake pads or sprockets and it doesnt seem to be getting any looser. My motto is they'll either wear in or wear out!
