MILO Posted January 6, 2004 Report Share Posted January 6, 2004 it wasn't me, but i watched a pretty cool crash once. it was the first poker run i ever went on, and i didn't even know the guy. he was climbing this wicked steep hill, short, but a pretty good lip at the peak. anyway he gets to the top, slows up a little to prevent launching over the lip facing the clouds, and gets hung up on it instead. he mashes the gas, which quickly digs a hole in the coal, as it starts to roll back. luckily he bailed off to the side in time and slides down the hill on his ass. his new raptor, on the other hand, must have gotten a bit of a bite as he bailed, which took the back tires up the lip and flipped it completely upside down and kicked it out away from the peak of the hill. it took about a 15' dead drop to the ground and landed flat upside down. it flattened the bars and steering stem into the tank and bent the frame, busting front end linkage, and a motor mount, and bent up the grab bar and broke a rear fender. a month old machine on it's first real ride. and the guy hadn't gotten it insured yet cause liability is all that's required for registration. the guy wasn't injured bad, just had some coal to pick out of his ass. it could have been a lot worse. it could have been a banshee instead of a craptor. lol.
