Wallrat
I've got the same one. Pick up the handlebar mount for $15. Its pretty easy to figure out after playing with it for awhile - or reading the book. Just remember to set a waypoint when you get to camp. Oh and bring plenty of batteries, I go through em really fast, especially if you've got the light on while on a night ride. All in all its a great gps, everything you need, nothing you dont. MrTJ
i have a Garman Etrex that i have had for about 2 years. i like to use it alot but its kinda hard to use on the banshee seeing as i have no way of looking at it while i ride so i haveto stop everynow and then to take a look. i use it to check my top speed on a few toys, its pretty handy for that. Its nice to have because when i take it with me i dont worry about getting lost in the back over grown trails that i like to explore every now and then. Wallrat
TJ, the etrex is the same kind of GPS that evil and I have. Pick up the handlebar mount for $15 from REI or the garmin website. Works great, I keep the gps in my pocket until I need to use the gps to find my way somewhere. Then I put it on my bar mount

thebloker
Hmmmmmm, sounds similar to what I went through. This was my first trip out to the dunes with a GPS, and all I can say is WOW! I never once got lost, never had to worry which direction I was going, and I was able to find every major hill, the bars, and all of the different campsites without even a second thought about to if I was going to get lost or not. Every ride, every time; that GPS made all of the difference in the world. GET THE HANDELBAR MOUNT, it really makes the GPS a tool, rather than a get out of jail free card. When you are not sure wether or not you are going in the right direction, it makes all the difference in the world if you can just take a quick glance down at you handlebars, or if you have to stop and go search through you bag trying to find the damn thing. P.S. The GPS I have the the more expensive of the ETREX model line, not sure which one it is; I guess Santa was really worried about me getting lost in the dunes again and not being able to find my way home. However, I don't care how much it cost, it was worth every red cent in my opinion.
