robinson373 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I was told today that T6s are only for a stock engine, that I would be wasting my time putting them on my quad and should use the T5s. IS THIS TRUE? I am in the process of rebuilding my 01 banshee. I had the crank trued and welded, cylinders bored .020 over, and had the head decked to 21cc. I am going to buy V force reeds and a set of toomey pipes. Quote
reas11 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 it is not true i will show u the dyno soon to prove it ....... Quote

dirtbike killer Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Unless your riding a ported banshee with t6's you dont know. Toomey also told me not to run the 2 into 1 intake. They said I would lose 5 hp. I loss 3.9 top end and gained over 10 on the bottom with the 33mm, lose 1.2 on topend and gained over 8 on the bottom end with the 35mm. I would not take to heart what they say. They may have made the pipe, but I know the people that run the pipes on there bikes know more about what the pipe will do and not do. I have had the pipes since day one. Quote
spoin39 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Toomey designed the pipes for a stock engine, that doesn't mean they don't work well with a modded engine. I had T-5's for about 4-5 yrs. and switched to T6's and could feel a difference. They have a little more pull in the bottom and midrange than the T-5's and have the same top-end power toomey is famous for. If you want the T-6's go for it! They are a great pipe for stock and modded engines! Quote

But I do believe Toomey knows how his pipes will perform and he suggest the T6 for the stock motors and the T5 for the ported ones. But if the T6s are what you really want, get together with reas11. I thought I read somewhere that he was selling his and upgrading to a better pipe. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted January 6, 2004 Report Posted January 6, 2004 Hey reas, from all the dynos I have looked at the T6s are nowhere near as nice as T5s on a ported engine. Granted you can still run them, its just that T5s would perform better (quite a bit from what I have sceen on heavily ported engines)in most instances. Same thign I have sceen as far as FMF SST pipes go, they do better than fatties on a stock engine, but not on a ported one. Quote
ScreaminShee01 Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 go T5's man theyre gonna haul ass and theyre a lot cheaper than T6's and then you can expand. i was goin through the same thing you were and my t5's should be here by the end of the week Quote
