JVT814 Posted October 19 Report Share Posted October 19 (edited) Recently purchase a banshee, it’s a bit of a Frankenstein. 97’ frame 98’ engine, works performance front shock & oddly enough a Honda mono tube on the rear. Thus far I haven’t found anyone who is aware of this swap. Any ideas from you knowledgeable folks would be great. The bike came from Nevada originally according to the cert of origin. I’m thinking of getting rid of the rear shock and I’m worried that the linkage may be modified to accommodate the Honda shock. JVT814 Posted October 19 Author Report Share Posted October 19 That’s kind of where I’m at. Buying a used bike that’s 20plus years old lends itself to a bunch of head scratches. Unless there is some weird hermit guru living in the Nevada desert that set this bike up for a given terrain? Either way I’m in NWPA and it doesn’t make sense to me. The rear travel with a Honda shock utilizing banshee linkage is either over sprung or under. My initial assessment leads me to the rear swing arm being way over sprung.
