byrna94 Posted August 26 Report Share Posted August 26 hey guys new here have had abit of a read on the forum cant seem to find what im looking for, my banshee didnt idle and bogged hard at idle 1/4 throttle plugs were wet and black so its too rich i cleaned the carbs still no luck, its has fmf fatty pipes with kn filter box delete, today i changed the needle clip up one position it was 2 from the bottom and put in some new plugs i have managed to get it to idle with some adjustments of throttle cable, when i ride it will idle abit higher than usual for 10 or so seconds then return to normal im running 30 pilot and 320 mains, in the process may have turned a few air and fuel screws and forgot where i was at but wasnt sure how far out i had to come for a starting spot also after test riding i pulled the plugs and they were a chocolate brown with the smallest amount of wetness but will smoke at low rpm 1/4 any help would be much appreciated cheers guys Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JerzOutlaw350 Posted August 26 Report Share Posted August 26 First off Welcome to BHQ there’s plenty of useful information that can be found here. From what you are describing in your post It sounds like you have either a jetting problem or possibly something a little more. Have you done a compression test or a leak down test? What’s your current altitude and your current outside temperature? What type of fuel are you using and what type of premix are you using and at what ratio? As for jetting I can only suggest a starting point. First off you have to look to see if your carburetors are synced. Then check the float height. It should be set at 20-22mm. Then take the clip and put it on the middle groove on the needle and then screw the air screw all the way in until it is lightly seated and back it out 2 turns. You need to get yourself some jets. For main jets get some 270’s, 280’s, 290’s, 300’s and 310’s and get yourself 2- 27.5 pilot jets. When it comes to jetting it always best to start out rich and work your way down and doing plug chops and checking your spark plugs is important.
