Dunebanshee1989
So the story goes: I picked up a Banshee and did a half restoration on it. Did everything but split the cases. When I bought the bike it barely ran due to a blown head gasket but it shifted fine. I took the clutch cover off and replaced the eccentric and the shifter return spring as well as ground the shift star (shift star mod). Now I have it back together and running well. The problem is that it doesn’t want to shift from first to second, and it goes into neutral shifting down from second when I can get it in. I did notice some wear on the posts of the shift star, could my shifter pawl be trying to skip over them?
Dunebanshee1989
So, I went ahead and bought a new shift star and shift shaft. Problem solved. Shifter pawl was skipping over the posts on the star. Thanks for the help guys!
