Just bought my first banshee! Need advice Please help😂

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I’ve recently purchased my first banshee after wanting one for years. It’s road legal but it handles terrible it shakes like crazy at high speeds, I have to hold the handlebars about 25 degrees to the right to drive straight, sometimes the bike just pulls itself to one side whilst I’m just driving straight. Something is just not right with it and I would love some advice as I’m a complete beginner lol!

the person I bought it off had it powder coated and fully rebuilt it (I think by himself) he said he’s replaced every bearing and bolt,

+2+1 A Arms

wheel spacers probably about 45/50mm

renthal bars

If anyone has any advice on how to fix these problems I would highly appreciate it if not I will have to take it to a professional but I’m worried how much they will charge me.

Shaking like crazy at high speed can be caused by a balance issue with the tire and wheel assembly or something bent like a wheel or the axle. Steering issue could be a simple adjustment of the tie rods or might be a twisted steering stem. You need to place the Banshee on a flat level surface and place the handle bar in a straight position and look at which way the wheel needs to be adjusted. You then have to loosen the jam nuts on the tie rod ends and turn the tie rod in the direction the wheel needs to go until it looks straight. Then get a tape measure and measure from the center of the tire tread to the frame by the expansion chamber on both sides in the same location and then measure the front side of the tires and adjust to make sure that they both match on the front side and back side.
