87blueshee Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I just got some reed spacers and they gave my 2 gaskets one for the spacers and the intake port and then one for the spacer and reed valve. Do i need one of the Intake boot too? Or do i just put some sealant on there and put it on thanks!! Quote
ruff_rida69 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I don't think so, I've never used a gasket between the carb boot and the reeds, Just between the reeds and the cylinder, i just always got some high temp. silicone and put it between the carb boot and the reeds. hope this helps. Quote
Banchetta Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 The carb boot has an o-ring so there is no need of any sealant or gasket.. Quote
Proquad101 Posted January 4, 2004 Report Posted January 4, 2004 I always put gaskets between my cylinder, reed spacer, reeds, and intake boots. I dont put any kind of sealent on mine so it is easier to change things at the races. If you didn't plan on taking it apart anytime soon I would seal it with Yamabond. Quote
camatv Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 dont put the spacers on they will make it slower... bunch of hype Quote
Proquad101 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 Go ahead and install your spacers, just because some people don't get good results with there set-up don't mean you will have bad results with your set-up . Form your own opinion of the spacers. Quote
