quadsrlife
ok ive got a question about these aftermarket cylinders ive been reading about. like whats the difference between a cheetah/t-rex and a stock cylinders. for example if there were two banshees with exactly the same mods except one had a cheetah 500 and had stock cylinders resleeved with big bore sleeves and bored to 500 why would the cheetah so much better and what would make it so much better than the other one,(remember other than that they have the same exact mods). any help or awnsers would be appreciated. thanks
NYUK
cheetas are nikasil bore, trex are sleeves. a 500 cc cheetah and a big bore stock cylinder bike, the difference isthe cheetas have a much bigger transfer area, using the air and fuel more efficiently.sleeves and nikasil are your choice.what is closer to you .someone who can bore a sleeve, or a nikasil shop that can re nikasil your cheetas.nikasil is hard almost diamond like. i had a piston shatter last summer. not even a scratch on the bore. quadsrlife
thanks ..well is there a big difference in power between having the stocks resleeved and the cheetah/trex
NYUK
the aftermarkets may be more efficient and reliable.i would say the aftermarkets would have more power or potential for the hp and torque than the big bore stockers.
Chemical Castration
I agree with NYUK the transfer area on the stock cylinders are too small, there's only so much you can do to the stock cylinders. The aftermarket cylinders have a better design and are made to go beyond what your stock cylinders can do. They also have powervalves in them witch help a ton with the lightswitch powerband that banshees are famous for. If you have aftermarket cylinders with a stroker crank your banshee can cruise around like a thumper!
