I am having a low end bog so its definetly the pilot jet, its at the stock setting right now, i have fmf fatty's, k&n filter with the lid off, i have 290 main jets, and the needle in the fifth position. elimitated the TORS, full throtle is fine, just a low end bog do i need to go a size up or down?

i'm guessing he's on the 5th position from the fat end. he's trying to compensate for too small a main jet. set that guy back to middle positon, and throw in a 300 main. bet it does better all around.

I erecently bought a set of FMF Gnarleys and they came with #30 pilots and #260 mains for use with the stock airbox and filter. The jets and instructions that came with the FMF Gnarley kit were actuall for fatties as that is what was referenced in the instructions. The Fatties and the Gnarleys are fairly close in performance so I would assume that your problem could be that you need larger pilots.

ok, what changed with your setup immediately before you noticed this

low end bog? im running the same pipes and filter mod as you and i

am running 320 mains at 900'. i was running 290s...worked great with

just the snorkel off of the lid...bogged real real bad when i cut the back

of the lid off up to the rear clips (it must have been a lean bog, but it was a bog none the less, i had to duct tape up the hole so i could

even ride that day...ran fine once i duct taped up the hole...but not as good

as when i opened the hole back up w/320's). you may or may not need

to go up on your pilot... i did not need to. if your bike kicks over fairly

easily, your pilots may be ok. heres what you do...your rolling along slow

in first or second gear just off of idle...now just barely blip the throttle

like no more than 1/8 throttle ( make sure you got the rpms up at least

slightly into the powerband before you blip it). start with the air screws

2 turns out and note the throttle response when doing the above mentioned

ride test. quickly jump off and turn air screws in 1/2 and jump back on and

do the same exact ride test (the faster you adjust and get back on, the better

your memory of what you just felt in the seat of your pants. if response

was better, try in another 1/2 turn, if worse go back to 2 turns and start

trying turning them OUT 1/2 turn. just because your bike bogs at low RPM

does not mean it is your pilots. mains come into play sooner than a lot of

people think (over 1/8 throttle) and so you have to look at throttle response

compared to throttle position to know were to look for your problem.

Every shee is different and I find most shees in my area like the 5th setting on Pt and fmf pipes. If the needles were too rich, then it wouldn't want to kick into powerband....Make sure your K&N is clean and adjust the air screws. Most people neglect them, but they do make a difference. Find the best position, I'm guessing it'll be between .5 turn out to 1 turn out at that elevation.....How does it start??? Cold? Warm? What is your compression?? This will also help us w/ your problem..

Also make sure your carbs are in sync...makes a big difference.

carbs are inscinc, filter is clean, i dont have air screws cause i got rid of the tors, just the caps now. bike starts fine, takes a couple kicks when its cold but it starts. but if i let it warm up and i sit there and give a quick rev it bogs down, then if i rev it up right after that its fine, so do i need a bigger pilot or a main?

You still have the airscrews, the tors just eliminates the idle on top. Now your idle should be on the right side of the right carb and left side of the left carb and the airscrew is on the left side of both carbs. It's the smaller one. Should be about 2-4 turns out, if turning it out makes it run better and your at 4 turns you need to go up a size on the pilot.

You have to have air screws, if those are missing, then thats your problem....should be on the left side of both carbs....

did you just get this bike and it was running like shit or

have you had it and it just started running like shit...if youv'e

had it and it used to run fine, what did you change? air box mod?

start oiling your filter different? change 2stroke oil? have you tried

draining and refilling your tank? throttle caps nice and tight?
