239banshee Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 im at sea level with t6 pipes and im gonna use the k&n dual clamp on filters.i have 280 mains now, stock pilot and needle on 4 clip of jet kit. Quote
itsmyforte Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 do you have a jet kit or not? you said " 4th clip on jet kit" i assume you mean needle jet, and its on the 4th position down from the fat end? you should be in the ball park, if your running dual pods with no air box better throw in a 300 (kehin main) and see what happens. BenBB Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 I'd start a little richer, like 320 or 330 mains, 30 pilots, airscrews 1.5 turns out, and leave the needle where it's at now. Should be a safe starting point and you can dial it in from there. Good luck. Quote
239banshee Posted January 3, 2004 Author Report Posted January 3, 2004 i put in the 330 with the dual filters,i dont know what it needs but it just doesnt feel right.6 th falls right on its face Quote
SHEEGUY SMOKEDYAA Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Yo dude have ran t5 with clamp ons but with paul turner national port 35 pilots 360 to 380 mains depending on weather. Also dyna ignition may have affected it a little also? Quote

I'd go to a 300-310 and check your plugs after running wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds. That'll tell all..... Quote

The needle is just a needle, there is no jet for the needles....You can't put a Keihin jet in a mikuni carb...and the sizes are totally different... Quote
spoin39 Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 I would go to a 300 main with the K&N dual setup and maybe go to a 27.5 pilot to account for the airflow. Like any jetting issue, you have to dial it in for your bike! Quote
psd1 Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 My bet is on the 310...possibly a 320! Let us know what you end up with! Quote
