erbilabuc
A) compress spring clamp the shaft c) while doing all this you have to unscrew from one of the ends. there is a special tool that they sell that does most of the work for you here is the website were I got the info from, it shows you step by step info on how to rebuild your shock. peace homie http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/marzocchi1.html
sneeky
if you want to put the coils back on one day you cannot without making a new securing ring firstly you have to compress the spring, which you have done, then just grind the 2 little oval shaped lugs off completely. there are two ways to remove the adjustable ring part, firstly, cut it in half and its off, however if you want to reuse it you can grind the outside edges of the rubber mount hole bit and just slide the ring off the end, once you get the two lugs removed you can remove the ring compressor and the spring will completely relaxe and you will still have room to work on the support ring area.
