M7Banshee
Hi everyone... About plugs and boot conectors. Many suggest BR8xx (5k resistor) plugs. Owners manual recommends B8xx (non resistor) plugs. On top of this, the plug boot appears to be non-resistor when OEM but NGK offers resistor boot (5k homs) nonetheless for the banshee... If combined then is 10k homs per plug+boot... Moreover, what is best for the banshee CDI box ??? Please share knowledge...

You don't have any electrical device on your shee ????You don't need a resistor plug.Envoyé de mon SM-S908W en utilisant Tapatalk
M7Banshee
Thanks for the comment. I have read that resistor plugs are recommended by many users but the actual plug refered in the service manual is non resistor. Apparently the same goes to plug caps. Wondering what is best, specially for the CDI box...
hoppedupandcutdown
All OEM boots are resistor. Not all years recommend a non-resistor plug, only a few. I've read Yamaha did the non-res thing to try and thwart a potential CDI problem, don't know why but they didn't stick with it. Also, NGK no longer offer the B8 in a non-res configuration. So there's that.
M7Banshee
Awesome. Thanks plenty. Mine is 06 but I cannot find the data on this mater for that specific year. My shee came with many mods allready, plug boots are worn out, need replacing but don't know if they are 06... Don't think so. I checked resistance on each nonetheless just to see... One read cero resistance and the other gave no conductivity (OL) and yet it runs... Changing both just in case. Found LBER-R (NGK non res), and NGK's 1k and 5k ohm. Also found OEM (8DG-82370-00-00) boots but no info regarding resistance... Trying pick the right one, but still confused.
hoppedupandcutdown
Does not matter...I run OEM 5k on one, NGK 5k on one, and cheap lawn mower no-res boots on one. Ohms don't multiply the more resistors you add.
