TEXWS6
I have a stock piston and bore and just want to replace the rings. I got a quote for $35/piston from the local dealership. Is this a good price? Where could i get these online? thanks
ScreaminShee01
at 35 bucks a pistons screw it... find somewhere else or order wisecoes for like 50-60 (you get new pistons and rings) bucks a piston and your quad will run better
TEXWS6
know where i can get just the rings for the stock pistons?? I thought that price was a little steep as well, guess that's why they call 'em stealerships...
banshee_rider95
try getting them at magic racing...they will prolly not have them online so i would call them up....i get my vitos superstock rings with a bore of 80 for 24.95$
fixitrod
Make sure to hone the cylinder too. That way the new ring will take the shape of the cylinder and get a good seal.
TEXWS6
what's the difference between honing and boring? I am gonna keep stock piston and bore.
SICK BOY
When you bore your makeing the cylinder size larger, and when you hone your just removing minor scraps and scraches from the cylinder.

TEXWS6
i have heard some bad things about Wiseco pistons. Can't the stock pistons take more wear and tear than the Wiseco's??
SICK BOY
Texws6 what bad things have you heard about Wiseco pistons?I never had a problem with them, and I know a lot of other guys who never had any problems.
TEXWS6
there is a respectable guy that lives in the area and has had everything from a 250R to a Quadzilla, and now he hays a pretty sweet shee. He says that the Wiseco's will seize up when your bike overheats the first time, that's just his personal experience. What do you guys think?? Dragg-on
hmmm, well, All I know is that Major shops like Grand River, and Patriot racing only recommend Wiseco Forged pistons on my alcohol motor and that cast pistons, like stock/ pro X will not last. so i think that wisecoe are strong pistons, If you have overheating problems then id say you are lean or have another issue you need to fix first. MichiganMafia
Magic Racing has rings for stock pistons, they are $19.95/piston. I had to call and order them though, they weren't available online.
