Wheelies?

I test rode one when I was looking for my new bike and the ZX-9 was a turd compared to my other bikes. It just seemed like a GSXR750 would walk all over it. Don't get me wrong, I am sure it had good points but I couldn't find them. Sorry for the distinction of wheelies, I meant sit down with a small tug on handlebars wheelies. Oh well, back to the point riding the ZX-9 and a R1 made me get the 40th A. Busa.

You should check out the video that was on the HQ a couple of weeks ago, it was a clip from the latest ghostriders video. A 499HP busa pulling wheelies at 180+, someone teach me to do that and I will be happy.

Its easy. Do this: Cut your swing arm 2 inches. They are fairly easy to pull and balance. I can ride along at 85 mph snap my throttle and balance one up to about 125mph, but then it gets windy and i have to back off.

For real. You got to have nuts the size of pumpkins to be on one wheel (out of 2 no less!!!) at 180+ mph.

No need to cut the busa's swingarm. I can wheelie up to fourth by quickly cracking the throttle to 9 grand. If anything, I need to lengthen that puppy and lower it. Sitting wheelies are pretty sweet but the fun in wheelies has been lost. As of lately, I am trying to learn to do stoppies better than what I can do know.

I wished it was that easy. The busa is not well balanced (500lbs) and wants to flip every time. I can drop a nice stoppie on a GSXR750 but the busa is still a learning process.

Damn, if you can ride a stoppie out 1000+ feet, that is a nice record.

I have seen some people around this area pull rolling stoppies from 75+ mph. It is pretty crazy to watch but fun at the same time.

I haven't down a stoppie on my bigger bikes much over 25mph but I try to attempt one a day for practice.

Practice makes perfect...or dead

Forte, your right on about the Gsxr750. I have a '01 red/silver and have no problem at all pulling the front end up at 100mph in 3rd gear in a stand up, even w/ stock gears....the 750 is very lightweight and mine has 135hp at the rear wheel w/ just a slip on, K&N, and powercommander...Nothing like doing 85mph in first gear!!!! Damn I love my streetbike, but I never ride it anymore, so if any of you interested in buying it, then let me know. It has 3600 miles on it, polished frame, chrome wheels, chrome swingarm, ohlins steering dampner, euro undertail w/ leds and clear lens, MIG high rise exhaust, and more.... :(

It's all about knowing what your bike can do. I've got mine has more mid range and top end power. So i usually put it in 2nd and give it about 3/4 throttle and it brings it up easy. Then its all a matter of ballance, shifting and hitting the brakes when it goes up too much.
