Yes, if the bike is too lean, you will know it by melting the top end. if it is too riich, you will foul plugs, and it will bog at WOT. Too lean early indications are high revving with little power. (zingy revving, not alot of ass...) And it will run hot. Plugs will look white.

If your jetting is really off then you can notice a difference in the main jets, but hard to fine tune by feel....A plug test is the best way to dial in the mains, no guessing...The needle position is very noticeable especially on certain pipes...the pilots and air screws are noticeable if you pay attention and try to distinguish where....
