gurny Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 A friend of mine has sst pipes and he has a 25 pilot jet and he is always complaining that he boggs at low end. His set up is sst pipes and k&n air filter, 290 mains 25 pilots and needle in the stock possition. What should he be running? Or is that set up good? Thanks Quote
Banchetta Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Is the air box lid off??? Or cut?? Raise the needles to the 4th clip or even the 5th..Try both and go from there...Make sure he adjust the air screws for throttle response...Hold off on larger pilots until he does this...my friend took his larger pilots out and had better low end and throttle response.. Twins in 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Sounds like you might be using a weebit to much fuel buy whats your land location? Quote
sandfool Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 i have SST's and duall Uni-filters.i had to go up 1 size on the pilots because it just sucked unless i was on the pipe you'll never know till you try it though. Quote
gurny Posted December 23, 2003 Author Report Posted December 23, 2003 His airbox is stock except no snorkel. At sea level. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 His airbox is stock except no snorkel. At sea level. Thats half his problem..tell him to cut the lid or remove it....makes a big difference. Quote
Twins in 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 If he has that big of jet and the lid on the box you may have a little too much fuel. Quote
