itsmyforte
why does the ass end not align properly with the frame. try as i might i can not get it in line. the quad doesn't seem to pull but the left side is definitely more forward than the right standing from behind. is this normal? the chain however looks stright. bansheeDUDE
Cant say I've ever seen that before. Is it your swing arm or your axle??
itsmyforte
its the whole carrier/axle assembly. a buddy of mine had the same problem, i think he got tired of fighting with it and left it crooked. there has to be a way to straighten it out. only think i can think of is if the swingarm is bent at the frame but i don't see how. rebelbanshee2
measure from the axle to the frame or pegs to make sure it is really crooked. then check to see what is causing it. It could be the goofball yamaha chain adjustment. Does the swing arm or axle have any play in it??
itsmyforte
will measure and test for swingarm mount loose when i get home tonight. but i highly doubt anything is loose. problem is i can't get the carrier stright which in turn makes the whole axle/wheel assembly crooked. Wheatchex
Try this: Loosen the chain till it's as loose as it goes(best would be to take it completely off). Then support the frame so that the rear wheels and swing arm are completely off the ground. Then try to move the axle relative to the carrier and then try to move the swing arm side to side relative to the frame. I would bet that the bearings are shot in either the axle carrier or the swing arm pivot. Possibly both. There should be no movement of either the axle relative to the carrier/swing arm or the swing arm relative to the frame. If these two checks are ok then you may have a tweeked frame or swing arm. Wheatchex all ready checked all that. its gotta be the stupid ass mounting of the bolts/chain adjusters. i will double check all the above mentioned ideas tonight and see if i missed anything. 1fine99
Check the two alignment bolts under the carrier, they are probably not set equal. There are tiny indicator marks that you use to line the carrier up. Loosen the main bolts that fasten the carrier to the swingarm then adjust the two bolts so that your chain is tight enough and the carrier is aligned properly. bs125r
I had the same problem on mine. The bolts on mine came loose and it wobbled out the holes where the bolts go through the swingarm and through the carrier. I opened up the holes alittle and put larger bolts in and it fixed the problem.
