Percy
I am going to be putting a trailtech computer onto my 01 Banshee soon. Have you guys removed your ignition swtich and mounted the computer there? If so, is it easy to remove ignition? Thanks, Bruce

williamjernigan
I just installed mine about 2 weeks ago and yes it is very general that it seemed like it should be harder. I epoxied mine in the rotor holes and I mounted mine on the top of the radiator plastic. I know that this is not normal but I thought it would be nice and I like it. When I have some pics I will post it. But I just was able to ride since I installed it last saturday and I know it needs to be calibrated because I hit 102.3 on the bypass and I know that is off although I am probrably going around 85-88 miles an hour. Thanks for the calibration instructions.

Was this easy to fit? Cheers, bruce
FadedDreams
I have one for my 2001 and it wasn't any easier in install the bracket.I had to drill out the holes and bend the bracket so it would line up.Even then i didn't get it perfect so i will still have to mess with it.But its good enought to get a reading. It does seem to track the speed slowly, but i think if i get it lined up better, that will be fixed.I bought the billet clamp thing and i'm glad i did,i don't think i would trust that plastic mount. Wallrat
That plastic mount is holding up just fine on my machine. I've got over 600 miles on the computer with no problems as of yet. I just wish my engine was as reliable as the trailtech is.
FIRST BANSHEE
my guess for the speedo reading slow is because the tires are barely on the ground untill you hit 5th gear.
williamjernigan
Thats a pretty good asumption about why its slow reading. But of course another one is that the banshee is so freakin fast the computer cant keep up with it.
pimpeinkc
my friend timmy bought one and he loved it, he has an 04 ds 650 which is quite fast, but not shee fast. so he bought one for me and our fried bobby since we almost alwas ride together and he wanted to know how fast the 2-strokes were going, he checks his GPS to make sure we are getting correct readings and so far they have matched up within a mole per hour. i think they are great and so do the rest of our crew. dnhyoung
Just becareful how wet you get them, they say that they are water tight, but after installing mine, and a day of riding in light rain, mine took a crap. it looked like a cheap timex after a day at he swimming hole. It eventually dried out, and now it sits on my bench. i also have the billet mount. Some one make me an offer if you want to take it off of my hands...
