itsmyforte Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 i pretty much only ride trails and some quick sprints through the yard. i want the best pipe for trails and not loose top end, just as long as its as good as stock is. my mods are 2nd oversize pistons(fresh top end) stock carbs no airbox lid with UNI filter and thats pretty much it. currently it has Toomey slip ons but i can't tell fro the life of me if the headers are T3's. they are all black but have no writing on them at all. they don't sound real pingy or anything special but sounds ok. i'm not really concerned with awesome sound, but if they sound good then thats just an added bonus. my future mods will include some sort of aftermarket head with changeable domes, a 2 into 1 manifold/carb setup and probably a set of aftermarket reed cages if need be. hope that helps choosing the best pipe for me. i searched the site and it appears its between DMC, PT mids, or cpi's. can someone post links to these company websites and do input your opinion on these and what your suggestion would be. thx Quote
Stuff Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I have a completely stock 2002 in which I probably do the same riding you do. I plan on buying Paul Turner mids after my x-mas shopping. Seems to me that everyone would agree that PTR mids are a good pipe for trail riding. I also like to tear up my lawn...be even more fun with better pipes Duncan Racing: PTR mids Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Get a 2-1 dynoport or motofast pipe, good low to mid with keeping the stock top, or check out the trinity's Quote
itsmyforte Posted December 19, 2003 Author Report Posted December 19, 2003 got a web addres for the motofast and dyno port? how do these stack up against the paul turner's? where is a good place to shop for all the pipes discussed so far? Quote
Banchetta Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 CPI's are out of the discussion..you don't want them for your type of riding.....Dmc, Pt mids, fmf sst's, bills, are great midrange pipes...Pt's are my personal favorite and have a touch of low end over the rest....the most low end power you can get w/ a twin pipe...I would strongely suggest them, they give awesome low end, midrange, and great gains of top end over stock....The 2 into 1 pipe has the most torque and low end w/ = top end power of stock....I've never ridden one, so I can't give my oppion on those....I have owned or ridden just about every pipe out there, but the 2 into 1....As far as info on performance, you won't get any accurate info....Dynoes are worthless compared to how the pipe actually performs....you don't get any hesitation, throttle response, or light switch powerband info from a dyno..Dynoes looks fairly close in comparison, but in real life, each pipe is totally different....your shee will be a different animal w/ different pipes... Aussie Quad Racer Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 My suggestion for best pipes for trail ride is stockos. They have a good spread of power, dont get in the way of your knees, are not very load and there free. I think people overlook the stocks as an option. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 heres the other, they look like rocket pipes dont they? Quote
Banchetta Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Maybe Trinity's..... Frocash, where in NY are you??? I'm 4 hours from NYC.. Quote
