TheNewGuy
hey man, yeah you can go to NAPA or any car part store and just ask for some engine degreaser...it usually comes in an arosol (spelling) can...spray it on the engine, let it bubble a bit, and wash clean....DONT GET IT ON PAINT...it will ruin/strip your paint on your jugs and DONT GET IT ON RUBBER...it'll eat away at your intake boots etc...it's an acid so it'll do it's acidic things and make your engine nice and shiney... TheNewGuy
its just like bare aluminum....if you look at the top of your cases (right underneath your carbs)...its like that...just a dull aluminum color...a lot of people polish them up...just takes a LONG time and a lot of elbow grease... AbsoLut
K, is there anything i would put on it while doin the old fashioned elbow grease?
Holyman
Go to Autozone or Walmart and buy engine degreaser in a spray can. Spray it on and let it set for a few minutes. use a parts brush or toothbrush to loosen the grease and then hose it off. even works great on painted parts. Yamahammer
simple green works good But i read on here it is caustic but never had a problem as long as you rinse it off well.. The best stuff i have ever used is CASTROL super clean avaliable at auto parts store... Be warned do not apply the stuff to a dry bike or paint it will discolor it but if you hose the bike down real well first and then spray it on the really bad areas it will take anything off.. Once again rinse real well
frocashmoney24
i just spray down the greasy parts, put on some ez-green , then scrub with a brush and it comes off after you spray it again
