Big Mike NY
I'm looking for a good all around tire for my Banshee. I heard the Fast Trekkers were good, especially if you mount them backwards. Is this true? What other all around tires do you recommend. I mostly trail ride, occasionaly I'll hit the sand pits, which I have paddles for. Discuss... Thanks
locogato11283
i run nothing but fast trekkers. they are cheap and go good on hard pack and mud. i run the fronts also and they have a good contact patch. they turn really good and such. id say try a set, only problem is that i dont know if youll find a set anywhere now. i think they are either shutting down the company or they are switching manufacturers. someone might know more about this than me. but id say if u can get ur hands on some then go for it. oh yea get 20 inchers, not 18s unless ur racing motocross. frocashmoney24
l theres a goodside and a bad side, they work really good on hardpack facing forward and really good in mud going backward, they are cheap and a good tire, BUT for trail riding they have alot of open tred, and they are known to get puntures in the tires
Screamin_Banshee
My cuz had em on his 01, all around awesome tire. Great traction but still had the ability to slide em when he wanted to..only prob I saw was they wore out WAY to fast. he ended up goin to Razr's since mine were very comparible in the traction department, but lasted twice as long. Meat
When i read the title of this thread, the first thing I thought was what FroCash wrote : "for trail riding they have alot of open tred, and they are known to get puntures in the tires" I have used the 18 inch trekkers and put about 10 holes em, I sold em with half the tread left on em and 10 big plugs stuck in em. Then a few years later I broke down and tried the big 22 inch trekkers, I had the same problems with the excessive flat tires. When I tried these tires it was 10+ years ago, I can remember thinking that the lugs were spaced too far apart and that is why I was always getting flats with em. I read the same comments in one of the ATV mags and now Fro stated it too. Id get Razr's or Turf Tamers. If your on a budget and want cheap tires, f*ck the trekkers and get turf tamers instead.
