Polishing a polished stator cover

What's the best way to get rid of the oxidation and bring the shine back on a polished stator cover? Not sure if I should buy a harbor freight polishing kit, or something like mother's mag & aluminum polish?

I tried to attach a pic but it says the file is too big.

flitz polish or mothers.

you can look on youtube on how people hand polish stainless steel revolvers to see how to do it. basically wax on, wax off. over and over and over...

I did my shearer pipes this passed weekend and attempted to do my clutch cover but i gave up on the clutch cover because i didnt want to take it off.. I would assume 0000 wool is too aggressive but i will try it on a part that isnt visible to see.

0000 steel wool lightly with mothers to get oxidation off first. Then mothers with rag. Dont go hog wild with the wool

Have you managed to remove the oxidation by now?

I did! I used 0000 steel wool and Mothers Mag polish.  Came out looking brand new! I’d post a before and after but this site always says the pictures are too big.

Stand up buffer with tripoli and medium wheel to get through the oxidation. Fine wheel and tripoli to shine, fine wheel and rouge or green bar to finish it. Best hand polish you’ll ever touch will be Master Formula for finishing and the occasional hand buff.
