Shee Is Still Leaking

i have taken off the bowl and sprayed out the needle valves n sht

i have put a dry fuel line on the fuel inlet and blown on it will i flip the carbs over (one at a time of course) and it cuts off the flow of air. i figure if it cuts off air it should stop fuel. right?

so from the searches i did i can only guess its the float hieght. it seems strang to me that both floats would go out of adjustment at the same time

anyway my dog ate my service manual so i dont know the correct float hieght.

when i did a search i found 2 different answers and i only need 1

any help would be great! it seems that im not the only one with this problem

Thanks

When I put on my new carbs, I had to buy new fuel line. The fuel line fit the T perfectly, however, it did not fit the new carbs as well. Because there wasn't a perfect seal, the carbs decided to pee until I zip tied the fuel lines on. Once they were on there tight, the fuel stopped flowing. Might be something that you may want to look into as well.

Quick in the field float level check. Get the 'shee on level ground. Take a piece of clear hose (I use the overfloow hose that runs between the frame and the swingarm pivot) and connect it to the overflow nipple on the carb bowl. Hold the hose vertically next to the carb and crack the drain screw. Fuel will flow into the hose and stop (assuming your float needle is doing it's job) at some point. The point at which it stops is the same point as the fuel level in the bowl. It should be just above (1-2mm) the "seam" between the bowl and carb body. If it's not, you'll need to adjust the float level one way or the other.

Than you have a bad needle and/or seat. If the float is set to the proper level, 21mm=.827" and it still leaks, your drains are not sealing, or the needle valve is not shutting off the fuel flow. That is the only two things that it could be. Unless your float(s) have filled up with fuel and do not "float" any longer...
