Mike23lee Posted November 15, 2020 Report Share Posted November 15, 2020 So i bought an 01 banshee, fmf pipes vforce 4 reeds. Really nice bike but my first banshee or two stroke and first atv ever i normally ride 250f dirtbikes. It rain healthy I took it apart to clean and polish stuff. Plastics, exhaust, stator cover, etc. drained out old gas and put new gas with yamalube 2 stroke oil. 32:1. I put it back together and it would rev to the moon instantly. So id kill it. I checked throttle cables and carb slides, they look fine. Checked for air in the gas and bled some out. Then i tried to kick it over and it wont start. Checked plugs theyre pretty dark so maybe thats it but it just started and rev to the moon 5 minutes prior. They both have good spark. I put the air fuel screws 3 turns out. I never owned a carbureted atv or dirtbike yet so im not too sure what to look for and check. What could possibly cause it togo to redline upon start up and now wont start at all. Also i checked reeds and nothing seems cracked or broken from what i could see. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mike23lee Posted November 16, 2020 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2020 Update: i got it fixed.. damn throttle cable.. i dont know exactly where in the cable was the issue but i took it out of carbs, took it out of thumb throttle mechanism, lubed it and reinstalled and problem went away.
