Austinjohnson345 Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 I recently purchased a 2001 Yamaha banshee and can’t get the thing running perfect. I’ve got fmf pipes on it, v-force 3 reeds, air box lid removed, a moss performance head and the air box lid removed. The current main jet is 330 with a pilot of 25 and the needle clip is on the top position. It just seems to be running rich on bottom end. Maybe up to 1/4 throttle. The air mixture screw is stripped so will not back out any more than about 2 turns and if it is in any more than that the idle will be super high and throttle sometimes gets stuck. I’m lost and have tried everything I can think of short of changing pilot jet but I though 25 was stock pilot? And I am running 50-1 ams oil synthetic. Quote
SKEETER Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 27.5 pilot. And clip in middle is fairly standard. Quote
Austinjohnson345 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Report Posted August 13, 2020 I was thinking to change the pilot jet but it seems to be running rich. So shouldn’t that just make the problem worse? Quote
Beatle juice Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 You can be lean on the low end and rich on the top end I'd take the advise richer won't hurt leaner can/will Quote
