Blue Duece
stroke the bitch..............all the 2into1......1into2.....2+2=4, shit is neet but doesnt get it really..your trading top for bottom or visa versa.....you really want something that comes on from nowhere and pulls till you run out of balls and have to shut down, if your riding in dirt, you want a violent power band..... richwuest
For bottom end to mid range, the best mod I have found is the 2-1 carb as already mentioned (about $475 new). Also, increasing compression helps also, which can be done by either shaving the stock head (about $50) or using an aftermarket head with interchangable domes ( $250-$400 depending on brand). You can increase compression to about 160 psi on pump gas, or go even higher if you are willing to always run race gas or alky. Port work can also be done to help low end, provided the builder know that low end is what you are after. If you decide to go for the port work, do some homework first to find out if the person you are sending you jugs to knows what they are doing before you let them cut. The cheapest mod for increasing low end (at the expense of top speed) would be to change the gearing. My wife likes alot of low end on her bike, so she runs a 12 tooth front sprocket. I have heard that V-Force reeds ($225) increse bottom and mid range, and I have bought a set but have yet to install them. I am sure that increasing displacement with either a big bore kit or a stroker crank or both willl help low end as well, but I have no personal experience with these mods, and they can be quite costly to do. If you realy have a big wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket, then look into a custom set of jugs with power valves.
boonman
Shave the head and lighten the flywheel. You will get more power in the low end, and throughout the midrange from the head mod, and you will gain a ton of throttle response with the lightened flywheel. Cheap and easy mods. Best bang for the buck you can get.....
