Bench shifting after rebuild

Hello new to the forum. Recently rebuilt my first banshee ( have rebuilt at least 20 plus machines over last 20 yrs ie dirt bike trans, four strokes plus trans etc) and am having trouble bench shifting it. What happened was while riding trans locked up. Upon disassembly found after market clutch basket rear plate came loose and piled up everything on the clutch side. Now all new clutch side and re installed drum and forks ( number 2 on back left and number ones on front shaft and right rear) put star in neutral drop in trans into case. In neutral seem to not disengage between the clutch main shaft and main out put shaft which I would thought in neutral both shaft shoukd be independent l. Also in any gear seem like can only get a full rotation on either shaft before it binds. Put top case on to try and see if it would help but does not. Quad is new to me but rode it for 2 weeks before trans locked.

I should add, I just took it apart again and every thing is good in the sense that with only the drum, forks, transmission shafts and gears I can cycle the gears by turning the star gear and turning the clutch shaft but as soon as I put the spring and roller for the star gear it seems to hold the drum just outside the sweet spot.

I've got it closed up again. Seems that in a way if I leave the spring and roller for the star gear I can manually turn the drum and manually turn either shaft and shift though all the gear and keep the assembly rolling without bind but once I position the star gear where the detent would be it starts to bind. Shift forks are not bend. Drum is clean and mitered trails in drum are good and square nothing rounded or worn
