Banshee not running right

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. So my banshee is having some issues right now. The left cylinder fires fine, but the right cylinder has smoke coming out, but there isn’t much exhaust pressure coming out. Raw fuel and oil is spitting out. Spark plugs are fine, and so are the coil wires. Thought it was a carb issue, but switched carbs and nothing changed. Also switched reeds, nothing changed. Inspected the right crank seal, and it appears to be ok. Also, the compression is good, reading about 95 psi on both cylinders. The right piston is intact, no holes in it or cracks. Main jets are a 220, and air screw is about 1.5 turns out. I live in Loveland Colorado, relatively high elevation. Don’t know what the problem is and I’m getting frustrated. Any input would be greatly appreciated

if that cylinder isnt firing, you will get smoke, and gas out of that pipe with vary little pressure out the exhaust because it isnt have the "explosion" in the cylinder making that pressure.

My son had the same problem after he tree'd his Banshee. The left side case flooded, had spark but no fire or pressure out the exhaust. Drained the exhaust pipe, Then I clamped the left side fuel hose and ran it at mid RPM until it started to lean rev, let go the pinch clamp and it's been fine ever since.
