To work on the banshee you have to be VERY patient and know a lot about two strokes. Get yourself 700 raptor or any 4 stroke (preferably fuel injected) and you won't have to worry about anything except service it on time.

Yeah I agree with that. Unfortunately, I already have this one and have to do something with it.

Sounded lean, and like the clutch is toast and just slipping.

Yeah lean was the consensus when it actually started and moved. We've regressed since then. Didn't touch it for a couple months and now it won't do anything at all. Can't say if the clutch is toast. Kinda have to diagnose one problem at a time.

I'm in Albuquerque, NM. I want to try and lose as little money as possible. I paid $2500. If anyone seriously wants it, shoot me an offer. Most likely I'll end up having to fix it so I don't lose my ass on it.

Easier to fix (put together) indeed but bitch to tune, time consuming process

Not at all. Leakdown test will tell you it all

Yup,engine wise but if you have old shitti carbs you might end up with some considerable time wastage trying to find out wtf is going on especially if you never had worked on it before. That is the reason why everything went fuel injection way, easy to troubleshoot, easy to change and way easier to tune.

And leak down test will only tell you if you have a leak or not,it won't help you with tunning at all.
