97Screamer
Stock carbs are not the problem, more than enough to support what you've listed. Sounds like a jetting issue.
Banshee626
Is it really and what I meant to put is stock carbs with stock jets and pilots
hoppedupandcutdown
You need bigger jets than stock

Banshee626
How come on neutral it revs out nice and high I know it’s a stupid thing to do but I did notice I could rev the hell out of it but as soon as it’s in gear and under load just sputtering away first gear goes okay 2-6th gear just sputtering don’t even hit the powerband
SKEETER
Pull carbs, clean thoroughly, get jet sizes, report back. Also, might check your stator and ohm it , make sure it's up to par
Ayesully810
stock jets and pilots are absolutely the issue lol toomey or vitos needle should be what your using a 32.5 pilot or 35 should then dial in the air fuel screw accordingly 320 to 340 main im assuming you have porting with increased compression as well as that factors in to jetting. if not those are good starting points but will probably need less fuel if no porting or compression/timing Edited March 12, 2019 by Ayesully810
SKEETER
32.5-35 pilot, 320-340 main ?? Just curious why you think it needs that much fuel
SKEETER
My dune port, 4mm with 170psi , +5 timing ,stock carbs only needed 30 pilots, 290 mains, Toomey needle in middle. At 1000ft- and sea level.
Banshee626
I cleaned the carbs lowered the needle position all that good stuff so I’m thinking jetting too I swapped stator and coils from my other bike and I was about to try the cdi but never did Anyone know where I could get a jet kit... thanx 4 the feedback fellas.. Just curious why you think it needs that much fuel i doubt it will. i said starting points and also stated it will probably need less fuel. just wanted to over estimate since he has been abusing it on stock jets. if there is no porting or advancement or compression those are def embellished numbers my 4 mil driveline motor was a 37.5 pilot and 360 main on pump gas. ive yet to see a motor that needs as much pilot as mine did though. Banshee626
anyone know where I can get a jetting kit and can I still run the (tors) or is it better to remove
mercury65
you can run your tors. and you can get a jet kit from toomy they have the better needle's. with a stock motor with t5 pipes at sea level is 290-300 and those numbers are right from toomy . if you use the toomy instructions ( found on web site) it will help you.
