Banshee bent connecting rod?

Couldn’t find a pipe that would fit both. However I used a machinists square and checked for straightness along the middle portion of the case and small rod section of crank. Right side was flush, left side had a small gap. This confirms the left side top of the rod is tweaked to the right. My question is since it’s so minor would I have problems with just installing pistons and cylinders. Or would this small tweak turn the piston just enough to bind on the cylinder. I know this isn’t the correct way but havent seen a nice used crank for under $150

It needs addressed.  No point in doing more damage trying to cover up an issue, that isnt going away

Yeah I know lol. Just wanted to see what people would say to that. Definitely grabbing a new/used crank. New bored cylinders with pro x pistons are in the works aswell

I don’t know where your at with money but if you need a crank hold off on the boring and do a 4 mil. You’ll be flying

This isn’t my main bike. This is just something I picked up since I saw a lot of potential in getting it running again. Plus I wanted the T6s it came with.

Could it be cast this way? I would bring it to a machinist and get an opinion.

I don’t think it would be casted this way. Like locogato and some others said it could’ve been tweaked from hydro-locking. However I could bring it in to my work and have them look at it.

All the hydro locked bikes that have been posted here are almost always bent in the middle where it’s weakest. Just seemed like a weird place to me. Was there damage to the piston by the wrist pin? I’d definitely take it to your work..

Not sure. Bought it this way with the cylinders and pistons off. Pistons got tossed before I got it. I have the cylinders but they are Chinese. The sleeves look runnable if I honed them but looks as if a kid beat the piss out of the edges with a hammer.

I’d toss those cylinders right out. Farm and Sand Toys couldn’t even bore a set out because of the sleeves being pitted. I’ve read lots of reports on the casting flaws with them and sleeves not lining up. A set of used cylinders are 200 bucks.

You might be pouring more money into this than you thought.
