Big Blue
If yamaha wanted they could probably figure out a way to sell the banshee, trough some sort of aftermarket thing or dont sell a complete quad, have some sort of kit. It is sad that well probably have to depend of the aftermarket companies.
patrolman808
Shoot the treehuggers and keep the 2 strokes
bansheeDUDE
I think the demise of the Banshee would definetly hurt yamaha. I mean where else not to mention who else?? makes a two cylinder two stroke bat-out-of-hell machine like the banshee?? No one! And I know , being one , That there are a lot of fans of this trail tearing set up. But I dont think it's a "yamaha made " decision. I hear DEP and the GOV. have a lot to do with the killing of two stroke power plants. But remember this guys, Honda stoped making there two stroke rocket(250R) in 89 and you can still find them in show room cond. every where you look! I'm sure there is no way any of us hardcore shee fans will let the name fade into the wind!
bronco91shee
I have many views on this. I did see this comin, with the intro of the 450. And i think if they would have ever changed the banshee in the last 16yrs, maby this wouldnt be happen quite yet. But honestly, we all knew this day was comin. 4 strokes and cars arent that far behind. Im a ford tech, and im seein some of the inside stuff, its not gunna be that long before the internal combustion engine is what we read bout iin history books. I hate the thought, i'll keep my toys until i die, or have sold everything else to afford parts and gas for them. I do see the treehuggers p.o.v., but honestly, they could clean up shees, or cars more first. Just think if shees were injected, it would cut bac on emissions and shit. Oh well. its really sad to say, but after my shee, im goin honda, maby even zuk, cuz i feel no other yamies r worth my time. Keep the shee's alive! Keep 2stokes alive! keep ridin areas open, they r taken my quad and my ridin land. There is only one way to solve livin with out them-suicide! Peace out ya'll, RIDE TILL YA DIE! NYUK
they were saying the same thing in 2000 2002 2004 now it s 2006.when i bought my 2000 off the dealer everyone was saying the same old horseshit."UH OH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE RAPTOR MEANS NO MORE BANSHEE" banshee is still here. dogboystoy
Personally, I am fine with Yamaha discontinuing the production of the banshee. I already have one and I love it. if they stop making it, there will be less people that have one and therefore making the banshee club a little harder to join. I know that there will be banshess around for the next century. People will just keep rebuilding them and modifying them. maybe Yamaha will come out with something bigger and better. blk02banshee
I bet they'll keep as long as they can. Service honda just released the new TRX250R...2-stroke. TRX250R
WickedBanshee
all the local dealers around me are selling more banshees too. they can't keep them on the showroom floor they say. and here's a thought. the shee has been around for 17 years. SEVENTEEN!!!!!!! and people are still buying them even though they change absolutely nothing about them every single year and they are still selling as good as the other quads. the 4 strokes are just now starting to keep up w/ them stock for stock and nothing can touch them modified. 17 years from now do you think the raptor and z400 will still be on the production floor? i doubt it. how can they end the most ultimate machine ever created on the face of the earth??? unless they are being forced to do so, they would be really, really fucking stupid. BenBB
My $.02 1.It's not Yamaha that wants to discontinue production of 2-strokes, you can thank the EPA and the liberal freaks that lobby in their favor; bunny huggin' granola-eatin motherfuckers. 2.Props to Yamaha for being the first of the big four to see it coming and build the baddest thumpers around; the YZ400F and eventually YZ426F and now in a quad frame the YFZ450...at least we have an alternative when the axe finally falls on factory 2-strokes. 3.Who else but Yamaha is gonna be crazy enough to cram a screaming street bike motor in a quad frame, like they did with the Banshee (with roots in the RD and RZ street rockets)...I'm thinkin' there's one of those crazy fuckers trying to stuff an R6 in a quad frame as we speak... NYUK
now stuff an r 1 in a quad frame and i ll be 1 st in line.
theeechozen1
Its not that big of a deal, the 250r ran from 86-89 only 3 years and you can walk down my street and there is one in every other garage. the shee has ran from 87 to present and everyone and their mother has parts, complete bikes and other chit for days, stop making them tommorrow? f*ck it who cares, the banshee will never die, wasting your time tryin to get yamaha to keep making them is pointless the 2-strokes will be off the assembly line, at least in 4-wheelers, and theres not much that anyone can do about it. accept pick up those spare parts and keep em clean. My friend built a complete bike strictly off ebay, every last nut and bolt. By the time we run out of banshee parts we will be old and too fuckin beat up to give a rats ass about a banshee. bigboybanshee
I think that this isn't really that big of a deal. Just because they won't make the banshee new anymore doesn't mean that parts won't be made....As long as there are aftermarket corporations the banshee will stay alive even if Yamaha were to quit manufacturing parts. I'm sure there are even people that post here that have enough talent to "custom" fabricate the parts you would need. It may cost ya a little more but I'm sure it can be done. It's not like we're running out of material to make them...it'll just be more expensive and a little harder to come by. How do you think people still drive antique cars???? BansheeBrian
Yamaha will do fine without the banshee. These guys are way ahead in atv tech than honda or any others.Just think if they really concentrated efforts and came up with nastier thumpers year after year. The 450 is just a start for yamaha. Parts will not be a problem for years, if ever. The aftermarket is so vast and competitive you will hardly know the shee is out of production. acracing55
Bronco 91' im seeing your point of view...Why stop selling the best sports selling atv around? First of all they will not see my business again if they go off the production line.... Second w/ enought help they could stop them from leaving. SANDSTAR
HA HA HA, you guys are falling for the oldest sales trick in the book! I say stop making the Banshee tomorrow. I dare Yammy to do it. The quicker they stop making the Banshee, the quicker the depreciation on the 3 I already own will stop. We are all sitting on pots of gold. The tree huggers will have to crawl back into the cave they came from if we all vote for those who support the way we live and play. Reverse the damage Clinton inflicted on our sport. Vote Bush '04.
