Wtf going on

Recommended Posts

Ok ran into a problem today out riding as usual and all of a sudden the quad top end started to suck ass anytime I got pass half throttle it would stutter all most like hitting a rev limiter got home and notice my right pipe was hitting way hard than my left maybe it isn’t noticeable on the video but the left side hits a miss or it’s just barely hitting and there’s a lot more smoke out left side

What you mean right pipe hitting way harder then the left? Like the pipe springs came off or something and pipe hitting frame?

No like it sound a hell of a lot more cleaner crisp healthy it pops really crisp at idle on the right side left side isn’t nearly as crisp or healthy seems like it’s misses sometimes

My old 06 did that on occasion. I never did figure out and I ended up parting the quad apart. First I would check spark plug caps, they could be bad. Cut the coil wires back a little, and try new caps. Perferbly ngk caps, but FAST has some decent ones on their website to.

Could be carb related to. Most likely electrical I'm thinking cause the one cylinder is cutting out.

I’m gonna switch plug caps and see if the problem switches in a few seconds

My thoughts are could be sign of cdi going, stator, or coil. Fresh plugs, trim back plug wires, install new plug caps and that's about the easiest and cheapest. Imo it's very wise to have s spare set of oem coil, stator and cdi. Just get them from motor city atv as he has a lot of them. Used they are still better than the best aftermarket.

So I cut back some of the wire rode it and it ran it for maybe a hour it ran better got rev it cleanly still has a top end stubble which probably is jetting but started it today and it’s back doing the same thing sort of almost sound like a misfire while calmly riding
