trippleh
I've tried searching and couldn't find anything. The "nuts" in the back of my gas tank keep pulling out, I've tried a little monkey glue and I've tried allot of monkey glue with no luck...what do i do? hoppedupandcutdown
Another tank is easiest/best. Or a good 2part epoxy instead of glue. Better yet a urethane based filler like body shops use on plastics, but a tube of that is WAY more expensive than a tank.
trippleh
Ok, this is my 2nd tank after doing that lol! And after the first tank i barely tight em'. ugh Gonna try the body filler stuff though thx!
hoppedupandcutdown
I hope you have a buddy in the body shop biz... I don't mean just like bondo. Duramix 4040 s my recommendation, of course it also uses a special gun and primer.
BlackandYellowBanshee
This is super ghetto, but JB weld putty stuff? I mean it’s not really supporting a load. Problem is... if it doesn’t work, undoing it would not be fun. Maybe try a hex rivet? Not sure if the expanding of the rivet would damage the tank, but I think those tanks are made out of hdpe... pretty durable stuff. Good luck man
BlackandYellowBanshee
Scratch the JB... it’s plastic... duh. The rivet idea would require some drilling to the size of the rivot and likelihood of it working is probably 50/50. Cheap, sturdy fix if it worked tho. JUSTWANNARACE
First off get bolts 5mm shorter than stock(the stock bolts are ment to bottom out so not to squish the plastics, as time goes on they bottom out and that's what causes the nuts to strip in the plastic) Second.. drill around the brass insert with an 1/8 drill bit, find some similar plastic, heat around the insert with a torch until the plastic starts to melt and fill with the other plastic material(plastic weld). Works pretty goid Edited April 22, 2018 by JUSTWANNARACE
Larry's Shee
While plastic well sounds like a great idea, PLEASE wash the tank out with dish soap (Dawn) . Youdon't want to make an ash of yourself .
