Nuts in the gas tank

Recommended Posts

This is super ghetto, but JB weld putty stuff? I mean it’s not really supporting a load. Problem is... if it doesn’t work, undoing it would not be fun. Maybe try a hex rivet? Not sure if the expanding of the rivet would damage the tank, but I think those tanks are made out of hdpe... pretty durable stuff. Good luck man

First off get bolts 5mm shorter than stock(the stock bolts are ment to bottom out so not to squish the plastics, as time goes on they bottom out and that's what causes the nuts to strip in the plastic)

Second.. drill around the brass insert with an 1/8 drill bit, find some similar plastic, heat around the insert with a torch until the plastic starts to melt and fill with the other plastic material(plastic weld). Works pretty goid
