TORQUEDFORD
I have a few questions on these gears. Correct me if I am wrong, the straight cut gears vs the helical stock cut is to not side load the crank with the helical pattern? And they stock ones are helical likely for noise reduction? What is the benefit of the ratio change from 2.68 to 2.86 to 1 on the gear sets? It seems to me you could do the same with sprockets and chain. 2004LEBanshee
I think its so you can run more stockish sized gears on a big powered motor with the other ratios. Theres not much room for a 18+ tooth up front on these asphalt draggers and fast bikes.
trickedcarbine
Yes they are supposed to help with side loading. They should be ran with TZ style (Cylindrical) bearings. Stock is 2.86, going to 2.68 is typically for guys needing more MPH on larger motor set ups.
JUSTWANNARACE
Alot of guys use different ratios to compensate for gearing. But it also has alot to do with clutch basket speed and clutch tuning.

RagunCajun
I went with them in my 521 serval. Builder said it's recommended for the side load regular gears have. I have stock ratio strait cuts. I'm not sure if it's needed. I just listened to a guy that does it for a living. No regrats.

trickedcarbine
They free up a few hp.

trickedcarbine
My 4 mil saw 2-3 hp over 3 runs consistantly.
gusto
I’ve always heard it was 1 hp. Would love a sponsor to chime in here
