Paulg83
So I picked up a banshee. Yes I have owned several. It’s blue has pro c exhaust and new tires. Guy said he was ripping it and it die. The coil pack had a free air ground splice. What more do I need to say........should I require the whole bike or spend 140 for a harness to start? How many of you have had luck wiring on your own. I’m an electrician by trad I have 14/16 wire coming out my ass but will standard wire take this beating over time? Oh an I can’t find a stock wiring diagram to include the keyed assembly what do I tie to the shut off? I don’t need my kid trying to run it when I’m not home and hit a tree....... BlackandYellowBanshee
Man, I just looked in my clymers and I saw no key switch clearly marked “key switch” in the diagram. I can’t remember which colors I spliced to delete the key. If you have no TORS, I got this harness that is pretty simple to use. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-wiring-Harness-NEW-97-01-NO-TORS-NO-PARK-BRAKE-3GG-10/173154748549?hash=item2850d3c885:g:bfgAAOSwD4larYna its all about how much free time you have to rewire. Personally, I would just buy a new harness for your year. Delete tors if you haven’t already and really clean up excess wiring. I can’t remember who it was, but someone in this forum also makes harnesses if you want to show them some loyalty. I’m sure someone will chime in on who it is. Keyway was sheered. And loose. Replaced key. Lock tight the nut and starts first kick. Thanks for the help guys.
