Timmy s
i just bought a banshee with bad compression for real cheap, and once i cracked it open it turns out one of the pistons was blown. i already have new pistons and bored the cylinders but i was wondering if i could still use the crank, i brought it to a shop and they replaced the outer bearings and pressure cleaned the center bearings but could not replace them due to the crank being welded, the guy said hes seen crank in the same condition last years and hes seen them last days, i was wondering if i would be a horrible idea to run the crank or if it would last. specialblend07
Sort of a hard question... How would we know without looking at it ourselves?

sleeper06
Not many people have the rite jig to do the center section. Welding has nothing to do with it, I crack open welded cranks all the time. IMO it should be looked at by someone with the rite tools. Since you blew a piston there was most likely excessive heat n strain put on the big end rod bearings n centers.
