gforce15
421 wampus refuses to start. bought it from a guy was not running apparently he had just built it. got it home clean the carbs put new plugs in and it started an ran good. pulled it apart powdered the frame put it together and it still started and ran good. left it alone for a week was going to ride it and it would not start. I have checked all grounds tested stator, coil, and swapped cdi with a none good one no luck. did a leak down passed that. has 150 psi on both cylinders. carbs have been cleaned and floats adjusted. noticed there was a grey milky liquid at the bottom of crank turned bike upside down got that out. I kick it over it try's to start and occasionally will half ass run for a second and dies. when the plugs are in the motor and I kick it they do come out a little wet but not bad. ive tried 4 sets of plugs. also have checked pick up coil distance that's good any thoughts

locogato11283
What was the grey milky shit in the crank case? Almost sounds like it's sucking in some trans fluid. Have you done a leak down on this thing? Have you pulled the clutch cover and inspected the clutch side crank seal? I wonder if when assembled they didn't put any 1211 on the keyway and it's sucking trans fluid in. Which side of the crank case had the fluid? How did you see it in there? gforce15
did a leakdown passed that holds 7 psi for way longer than 7min. have not inspected any seal on clutch side. I saw it with a bore scope camera and then flipped it up side down to get it out. the fluid was in the crank valley under the rods. right where cases get trenched. after you kick it and it trys to start it will push air and smoke out of the carbs
locogato11283
Hmm, that's strange. So it won't even start with starting fluid? I think I'd tear the whole thing down and inspect/rebuild. Something isn't right.
gforce15
that's what I was thinking of doing I wanted to see if you guys had any ideas that I have not tried before I went that route. I do appreciate the ideas
locogato11283
The only other thing I can suggest is swapping electrical parts one more time. I have seen CDIs work intermittently. Coils usually work or they don't. I'm sure stators and flywheels can work off and on but I haven't experienced that. Otherwise, what about your wiring harness? Kill switch? What type? I had a Tusk kill switch go bad at the dunes this year. Even with the "key" in the kill switch, starting was intermittent.
gforce15
ill try that I have 2 other banshees to pull from. the wiring harness is stock with all tors and e brake crap unplugged. kill switch is the stock one
