PaymentPlan
Has anyone ever installed these? I cannot interpret how the OEM collar's are going to be used with RPM's product. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find any results. Basically if you look inside an OEM front wheel hub with the studs facing the down/away, you will see a tapered housing that accepts the tapered #3 collar. The #9 collar fits inside the #8 oil seal. With the RPM wheel hub, the only taper in the housing is for the bearing races. When I set the collar in the hub it doesn't fit anywhere, its like a hotdog in a hallway. The ID of the hub housing is WAYY larger then the OD of the OEM collar. When the collar is dropped in the hub, then slid firmly over the spindle, there is HUGE slop when moving the hub in any direction. I set the tapered outer bearing in its race and tighten the castle nut with my washer behind it, and I run out of thread before its snug. There is no oil seal for the outer bearing with the RPM hub (optional), I have the service cap. So I think #9 collar is useless. Any thoughts? Ill upload some pictures in a minute. trickedcarbine
You are positive they are the right part? Verified the right ones were shipped?
PaymentPlan
You are positive they are the right part? Verified the right ones were shipped? That is something I was beginning to consider. After every configuration of using these pieces and no progress, it is looking like they sent me the wrong part. I will call them tomorrow, again, to tell them the results. But here is the exploded view. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
PaymentPlan
I'll try to grab a view of the RPM hub today. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
PaymentPlan
Found out that the RPM hubs do not require the #3 or the #9 collar. The RPM hub bearing housing will remain hollow besides the races and bearings. They do not require OEM internal hardware. The hub is positioned and centered with the tapered bearings. They recommend to pack the inside of the hub with grease.
