jeremyshee01
Ok guys, as some of u might know I've been jetting my 4 mil in lately. With that I gotta give those who have me a good starting point props because all said the same thing and we're pretty much spot on. BUT tonight when I finished it up I took it for one more rip and it died, no spark. It has a brand new oem harness, cdi, and key switch. Got a oem stator from hp2000 that looked in pretty damn good shape. Only other thing that's left is the coil and pick up but the pickup looked good too (I know u can't go by looks but hand with me for a sec). Yesterday and tonight when I went to start it, on the first kick it would backfire but then start right up. Could that have been a warning sign of an electrical problem or just off on jetting? Actually hoping someone will tell me that the caps on the coil are fucked up, maybe need to clip the wires a little or something. Thanks in advance Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
sheerider11
Check your harness by the exhaust and check your timing. Pull the flywheel to check the woodruff key tooSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
jeremyshee01
Ok, will do first thing when I get off of work tomorrow. I sure did learn my lesson by having the local shop assemble my motor. He's awesome with 2 strokes, stock ones, but not these things. My winter motor well deff be done by a site sponsor or maybe assembled and tuned by the dude in long island if he'd be generous enough to do it for meSent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Unless the "no spark" is just a guess and not an actual condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jeremyshee01
There is actually no spark.Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
blowit
I would say a good multi meter will take the guess work out of this. Follow the values and procedures in the manual and report back. No sense in guessing. Do you still have the TORS system on? The key switch, handlebar switch, and TORS are all part of the same circuit and an issue with any of them will cause the CDI to be in "off" mode. You can also set your meter to AC volts and the primary side of the ignition coil (NOT the secondary) and you should see activity there. You won't be able to get a good read on the voltage but activity means you are likely getting response from the CDI to the coil thus the ignition coil may have issues. spurdy
Yep, like Brandon said. Start somewhere in the middle of the circuit and you can divide the system in half and you'll know which direction to focus your efforts. Divide a problem in half 3 times, and your usually pretty close to the cause of the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jeremyshee01
Thanks guys, makes sense when u stop n think about it lol. I'm just freaking the fuck out, first jetting in my first shee with porting and then this (no tors by the way). This all started because of a lost spark issue, figured I'd start building it while shit was apart. Over 5 grand later (and not done yet) and I have practically a new banshee, well did have for a week. I'll check that stuff out n report back. Thanks againSent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

I will say, those plugs on the coil get loose over time. Seen more then a few lose spark and it just be that plugSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
